What Causes Rotten Teeth
When people talk about having rotten teeth, usually what they are saying is that they have teeth that is starting to decay. This is a very common problem that dentists will hear and see all the time.
Usually rotten teeth is caused by a combination of things including a kind of bacteria found in plaque, too much sugar and a tooth surface that isn’t strong enough to fend off the problem. The reason this combination is bad is because the plaque bacteria is “activated” by sugar, so that if you eat too much sugar the acid created by this process starts to eat away at the enamel on the teeth and then moves onto giving you rotten teeth after a period of time.
You only have to search the internet for pictures of rotten teeth to see that this isn’t just limited to old people though. In some cases even kids rotten teeth is possible.
Like most thinks, prevention of rotten teeth is much better than trying to solve the problem when it has happened. Make sure you properly brush your teeth regularly (it should be twice a day for two minutes at a time). You should also floss regularly to make sure your teeth are clean, and visit the dentist regularly who will be able to spot the early sins of tooth decay.
If you already think that you have rotten teeth then don’t hesitate to make an appointment with a dentist who will be able to help you sort out the problem.
