How To Brush Teeth
Brushing teeth is something that we all do every day, but how many of us really know how to brush teeth? It is something that we do so naturally that not many of us really put time into thinking about how we can brush better. However brushing your teeth is vitally important if you want your teeth to last, and can also help avoid the buildup of plaque, tartar and also staining of the teeth which makes your teeth look less white.
First of all, the majority of us don’t brush our teeth anywhere near as long as we should. You should brush your teeth for around two minutes each and every time, twice a day. Make sure you time yourself a few times to see how often you actually brush for this long, and I would bet that most of the time you don’t get anywhere near it.
The type of brush that you use is also very important, because no matter how well you brush your teeth you need to make sure that you have a brush that is up to the job. Most dental professionals think that using a soft bristled brush is best for getting rid of plaque. Usually you can get a better clean if you use an electric toothbrush too. Also, a small head is better because it means you can get to all areas of the teeth that a bigger brush may not be able to reach. When you brush starts to show signs of wear and tear you should replace it as soon as possible. Usually this will only be a few months after you buy it.
If you want to make sure that you have the freshest breath possible, then it is also a good idea to clean your tongue when you brush your teeth.
Knowing how to brush teeth properly is vitally important and you should make sure that if you aren’t sure how to do it that you contact your dentist as soon as possible so that he or she can advise you on the best way to do it. Don’t leave it until it is too late to learn how to brush your teeth the right way, the sooner you start doing it the better.
